The natural tan finish of the dried seagrass works well as the material for this elegant basket weaving design. The baskets are weaved in thick and long strands for a durable construction which also creates a better aesthetic flavor. These large round baskets are rimmed with a round metal top to hold the circular form in place and for added protection to weaving work. The metal rim is held in place by looping knots of seagrass connected to the main basket. The two handles of wound up seagrass are also attached to the metal rim for better carrying strength.
